CAROLINA SUMMIT ANNOUNCES SPEAKERS

Dr. Bruce Fong |
Dr. Bruce Fong is English Lead Pastor at Sunset Church, San Francisco, after 10 years as pastor, Chinese Baptist Church, Portland. The author of Racial Equality in the Church, he speaks at Iron Sharpens Iron men’s conferences, after 11 years on Promise Keepers’ national speaking team. He earned the B.S. at Western Baptist College, Th.M. at Dallas Seminary and Ph.D. at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, where he had been a student missionary 1988-1990. He was Professor of Bible Exposition, Homiletics, & Pastoral Theology at Multnomah Seminary, 1990-1999, and President and Professor of Homiletics at Michigan Seminary, 1999-2009.

Dr. Rene Rochester |
Dr. Rene Rochester is founder and president of Urban S.E.T. Inc. (Strengthening, Educating and Training). She earned her Masters and Doctoral degrees at the University of Texas, where she was the first African-American to receive the Doctorate of Health Education. Rene’s passion is to impact youth and those who serve them with authentic truth for daily life decisions. Her books include: Positioned for the Exchange: Who will impact the next generation? and Models, Mentors, and Messages; Blueprints of Urban Ministry (Zondervan). Rene currently teaches high school Anatomy/Physiology and Psychology and is an adjunct professor at Fuller Seminary and other universities. |

Dr. Danny Carroll Rodas |
Dr. Danny Carroll Rodas comes from a bicultural background (Guatemalan mother, American father). He earned a B.A. from Rice University, a Th.M. from Dallas Seminary, and a Ph.D. from the University of Sheffield, England. He taught 15 years at El Seminario Teológico Centroamericano in Guatemala City and remains an adjunct professor. He has been at Denver Seminary since 1996, where he is Distinguished Professor of Old Testament. Five years ago he helped start its Spanish language training program. He is on the board of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. His book, Christians at the Border: Immigration, the Church and the Bible, is a biblical-theological orientation to Hispanic immigration. It has been translated into Spanish. |

Rev. David H. Kim |
Rev. David H. Kim is Director of the Gotham Initiative at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, for young professionals seeking to live out their faith through their work in NY City. He earned his B.A. in biology from University of Pennsylvania and before formal ministry, worked in the human molecular genetics lab at Philadelphia Children's Hospital. He earned his M.Div. from Westminster Seminary, his Th.M. from Princeton Seminary, and is a D.Min. candidate at Fuller Seminary. David started a campus ministry at Princeton called Manna Christian Fellowship and was its executive director for 15 years. Manna promotes a gospel worldview focusing on how the gospel renews both private & public worlds. |

Bishop Harry Jackson |
Bishop Harry Jackson is the presiding bishop of the International Communion of Evangelical Churches and senior pastor of Hope Christian Church, with 3,000 attendees in Beltsville, MD (greater DC). He earned a B.A. from Williams College, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He founded and chairs the High Impact Leadership Coalition to educate and empower churches to make grassroots influence in their communities, states, and nation. His radio commentary “The Truth in Black and White” airs daily on over 400 stations nationally. He is a leading researcher on the black church, and with George Barna, he co-authored High Impact African American Churches. The Christian Post named him in the top fifty most influential Christians, and the Family Research Council recently named him Watchman of the Year. |
